Ever been Minister of Finance and Governor of Tanzania (BoT) and later the founder of the Association for Democracy and Development (Chadema), Edwin Mtei explained how he had been close to the Father of the Nation, Mwalimu Julius Nyerere to get the top job.

Q: Have you had to work with Mwalimu Julius Nyerere, so this was the kind of person are you?

What he said he wanted pursued the same , he 'd tell no man .Q: What hated Mwalimu Nyerere era of his life ?Answer: She hated not public property and anyone else who drove overnight mdokozi would abuse it. There is a big difference between them and the teacher . He loved his people but hate CCM leaders and their people embrace visitors are called investors.Q: What is the event that you do not forget it when you are working with Mwalimu Nyerere ?Answer : I can not forget the time when I resigned the governorship since we were very varied and teacher until I decided to sell my house and move to Dar es Salaam, Arusha , and here I've been a farmer until today .You know the teacher was a man who does not like democracy at all,
he was someone who did ambiliki , he 'd achieved what he just said .In 1977 Mwalimu Nyerere and Mzee Kenyatta were distinct and scored border of Tanzania and Kenya , while Milton Obote ( Uganda era president ) had been robbed of power and Idd Amin and then East African Community (EAC ) ikavurugika .If I am the Secretary General of the organization , I decided to return home.When I returned I was given the opportunity to be the first Minister of Finance , while we in the Battle of Uganda and I am , I was in charge of economic and financial time of war . Ilipoisha war our country was plunged into severe economic downturn , we did not have any money .Then I decided to advise the teacher , that tukope money from the World Bank to resolve this issue . After consultation with the people of the World Bank , I told Master tupunguze also use our budget , I mentor many things actually.You know , the teacher replied that I am influenced by the people of the International Monetary Fund ( IMF ) , so I decided to resign. I sold my house in Dar es Salaam and Tengeru buy a large farm here in Arusha .Teacher loved to tell people ' is an old ' and unfortunately I do not have such a person . Every time he said he wanted the public to be followed and you know that I dare say Teacher 'no ' .Q: What is good that you remembered to Mwalimu Nyerere ?Answer : First of all , he is the founder of our nation , he loved his country and also loved the freedom of other countries in Africa .
