First Vice President of the Government of National Unity ( SMZ ) , Maalim Seif Sharif Hamad , has said he will run for presidency until older age where body power will not allow him . Besides he said that he would continue to defend its position as secretary- General of the Association of Citizens ( CUF ) in the party elections set to begin in first November this year.
The statement was given in Zanzibar yesterday , when he was speaking to the press in which he described the three-year performance of SMZ in the seventh round of the leadership of the government .
" I will retaire when my body power is gone, others see Maalim is the threshold ,he should go, I say I will not go . I will continue to serve Zanzibar and that is my promise to them , I say as a whole will run for presidency and secretary general of my party .
" CUF election process has already begun and will be held in all branches November this year, and next year's general election will be held with the general assembly between May and June next year and Insha'llah will run again , " said Seif .
Referring to the gains made by the joint government formed by the Chama Cha Mapinduzi ( CCM ) and the Association of Citizens ( CUF ) , said in the past three years the Government , one of the achievements include raising the price of cloves .
He said the state has given the farmers of their recovery compared to previous years , a move which has caused many countries especially in the villages of Pemba build a better house .
In the tourism sector , he said the Government continues to attract investors both local and foreign investment in various economic projects which have been increasing , whereas last year only six projects and 18 programs were established .
About the interests of workers said SMZ managed to improve their interest to increase the salaries of employees including promotion where also in 2011/12 , the Government handled the issue.
New Constitution
Referring to the process of the new constitution , Maalim Seif said, the process is based on the concepts and ideas of President Jakaya Kikwete , where his wisdom saw 50 years have passed since independence , Tanzanians need a new constitution which involve all citizens.
He rolled a matter of opinion , in which he urged people to discuss the draft as it has limitations to be made and will not discuss or comment .
People gave their comments , I 'm sure I gave my consideration , my party have agreed with that view , so why do I not agree with the President , I ask Allah this process to end safely, Meanwhile other people go against the process.
" However with the good intention of making our country should have a new constitution by next year , we must acknowledge that many challenges continue to emerge in this regard.
" You will recall the series of events involved especially after the government decided to submit to Parliament a Bill to amend the law to change the Constitution , violence ensued in parliament and cause some opposition MPs , including the leaders of the camp, complaining unfair and decided to get out , stuff quite .
" After all that happened , the President still made sensible to stay the same table with the leaders of all parties politics to discuss and settle the disputes , between the underlying claim is that Zanzibar was not involved in the law as well as many other things , " he said.
The national government
Seif said the coalition government will continue until the people vote and comment.
" Politicians will only continue to shout , yes, everyone wants to lead, and inshaalah this government will be improved over here .
