After almost two years after deadly terrorist attack on Westgate Mall, the Nairobi shopping hub has opened its doors again.
The attack by Somalia’s Islamic extremist rebels, Al Shabaab left 67 people dead and billions worth of property destroyed.
The mall has now been extensively refurbished since the devastating four-day siege. A private Israeli firm, International Reserve Group has also been contracted to provide security to oversee the mall’s security operations.
Nairobi governor Evans Kidero led a walk through of the revamped mall with the media and the president Uhuru Kenyatta even made a surprise visit to the mall
